For the first time in History, an International Congress about gender and education is happening. It’s the I International Congress on Gender, Sex and Education which will take place in Madrid, Spain the next 23rd February and it´s an unique opportunity to debate this controversy subject.

Attending the congress are well-known speakers and experts as doctors, lawyers, educators, sociologists, philosophers, religious and writers, namely Miriam Ben-Shalom, Agustín Laje, Rubén Navarro, Michelle Cretella, Glenn Stanton, Paul W. Hruz, Gabriele Kuby.

The high point of the conference would be the testimony of Walt Heyer, who was transgender and lived 8 years as a woman, and who lately back to his male identity and at present works helping transgender people.

The congress highlights a historical moment for European countries which recently has discussed the theme and wherein the Nordic Council of Ministers, a regional intergovernmental co-operation composed by Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland, closed the NIKK (Nordic Gender Institute) which scope was to provide some scientific basis for pedagogical and social policies. The decision was made after Norway’s state TV, NRK-TV presents the documentary “hjernevask” (brainwash) that exhibited details of the research at the NIKK and demonstrated that there was no scientific character or robust evidence capable of supporting gender theories.
