Every child has the right to have a family, a healthy family, to love and to be loved, a family to be example and inspiration.

The preamble of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and its protocols indicates the basic principles of the United Nations and specific provisions of certain relevant agreements and proclamations for Human Rights; in which is emphasized the fact that children, due to their vulnerability, need special care and protection, strongly highlighting the care and protection of the family concerning the infant. Cases in which children, for whatever reason, is found alone, without a family – are treated by Articles 20:21.

Nonetheless why family is so essential that it comprises a guaranteed right?

Family has a significance not only biological but also historical, anthropological, sociological and even philosophical. Family is the foundation of the individual in its physical, mental and emotional integrity. It is also the place of early education and form a basic nucleus: it is the first association to which one belongs.

As a first group of human relationship and social interaction family is where one learns all philosophical basis of living such as: respect, cooperation, solidarity, altruism, tolerance; among other essential values for peaceful coexistence wherever you are. It is there; in that little social cell, that you learn what is right and wrong, good and evil.

The first issue to be underlined is that in what comes to the construction of the family world still faces a problem: a lack of knowledge and education, many people do not understand why it is important to have a family; others composes family without having the slightest idea what it means, and they never heard about what dynasty really means. Moreover many people are unaware about what it takes to actually support a family, most people believe that keeping the family is something merely a matter of how money one have, issue of providing food materials (physiological needs), forgetting about the emotional food (soul) and the spiritual food (spirit).

Ethics, morality, decorousness, civility and nationalism are principles and virtues that one learns or should learn in each home since an early age, as a guide conduct for life. If you are not taught about it in childhood, a time when the personality and character are molded, the person may develop inadequate habits, absurdly inappropriate and believing to be normal behaviors such as bellicose, disrespectful, perverted and corrupt behavior. Thus, a trail of the most terrible vices is the only legacy possible. And like any addiction leads to destruction, entire families have been devastated and wiped out every day, without prospects, without hope and without dreams, completely discredited and getting miserable in every way.

Such a powerful century technology coexists with a time of a increased in family poverty: homeless children, young dependents of alcohol and narcotics, women lacking in self-esteem and aggressive men.

What happened to the families? Family … That place of love, hugs, kisses, laughter, fellowship … Place to be happy … Where did this heavenly place?

With no family, we lose the ground. No family, no nothing. No citizen. No country.

To rebuild a nation we need to rebuild the family.

How?

Education first!

You have to start from believing that it is possible!!

Healthy child is a child who has family!

In summary, Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that:

“Recognizing that the child, for the full and harmonious development of their personality, should grow up in a family environment, in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding (…) the right to survival should be granted; develop to the fullest; to protection from harmful influences, abuse and exploitation; and participate fully in family, cultural and social ” .
